Professional History

Anne Barry, MSN, RN, PMHNP, is the Director of Behavioral Health Nursing for the McLean-Franciscan Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Units. She has 15 years of experience in treating and caring for children and adolescent patients in mental health crisis. Anne began working on the child and adolescent unit as a staff nurse in 2010. She later earned her masters degree in nursing from Boston College in 2018 and worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner for McLean Southeast Child and Adolescent Services before returning to Franciscan Children’s in a nursing leadership role.

I have been interested in working with children and adolescents since early on in nursing school. Throughout my education and clinical practice I have found the nursing perspective of caring for the whole person to fit well with the specialty of psychiatric nursing, especially with the populations to which I have dedicated my career. My work with the behavioral health nursing team is built on her passion for delivering strength based and trauma informed care to a diverse patient population.
