Dr. Leslie graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 1993. In addition to his clinical studies, he was of only two students in the history of the program to be awarded the competitive Holderness Student Research Fellowship. Following graduation from UNC, he completed his residency, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Rheumatology, at Boston Children’s Hospital. Following fellowship, he was a clinical attending in Pediatric Rheumatology at Boston Children’s.
Additionally, Dr. Leslie was an independent investigator in the basic biology of T cells and non-classical lipid antigen presentation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for eight years. In 2008, he was the co-founder, and served as Clinical Director, of the Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation Center (PPRC) at Boston Children's, an intensive day program for children with complex pain syndromes. In 2010, he left the PPRC and began his current position as a full-time hospitalist at Franciscan Children’s Hospital, caring for children with complex medical issues. In addition to his duties as an attending on the Franciscan Children’s medical units, he serves as the coordinator of the hospital’s Physician "Moonlighter" Team.
