Gregory Young, PhD, LABA, BCBA is the Assistant Director of Behavioral Health Services (BHS). Dr. Young is a licensed psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Dr. Young completed his undergraduate education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and earned his PhD at Northeastern University in Combined School and Counseling Psychology. He completed his doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Young worked within a special education residential setting for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and severe problem behaviors. Dr. Young started working at Franciscan Children's in 2016 as the attending psychologist on the post-acute pediatric medical rehab units (ending in 2021) and the behavior analyst at the Kennedy Day School (ending in 2018). From 2017 to 2023, Dr. Young was the Director of Training within BHS, including overseeing the APA accredited doctoral internship in psychology.
Dr. Young has specific interest in family therapy and parent training, neurodiversity, medical adherence and compliance, pediatric sleep disorders, toileting/elimination difficulties, severe problem behavior, anxiety disorders, and has a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis. He cocreated the MASTery outpatient clinic and has a specific interest in CPAP/BiPAP desensitization. Dr. Young is engaged in research related to caregiver engagement during inpatient medical hospitalizations and treatment efficacy related to a CPAP adherence protocol.
