Professional History
After working in elementary education, Marc was working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and felt like he could do more. Through some trial and error, Marc enrolled in the Vision Studies Program at UMass Boston. After graduation, Marc began working as a TVI at the Kennedy Day School, servicing students with a variety of visual and sensory needs.
As a legally blind individual, working with students who are blind or visually impaired is something that is very personal to me. As a kid, I had a wonderful TVI and O&M who opened up my entire world. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to go to college and advocate for myself with confidence. Moreover, she taught me how cope with my disability and see it as a strength.
I show up to work every day to be that change for my students; to provide them access to a world that is built on a visual foundation. Every student is different and requires different supports and a different approach to reach their goals. It brings me great joy to support our students at the Kennedy Day School with my wonderful, dedicated, and passionate colleagues.
