Professional History
Sarah studied psychology, music therapy, and mental health counseling within her years at Sacred Heart University and Lesley University. During her internships at NewBridge on the Charles in Dedham, MA, and Franciscan Children's Hospital, in Brighton, MA, she was exposed to many different ways of life, diagnoses, cultures, and treatments as it related to her work in the mental health counseling and music therapy fields. Sarah has since continued on as staff at Franciscan Children's Hospital on the inpatient medical units and in outpatient behavioral health, working with families and children of all ages.
I have been a long-time musician and has always wanted to help people and work with children. As I majored in psychology in undergrad and was an active member/leader in the bands and choirs, I found the field of music therapy: the perfect joining of music and psychology. I later found the mental health counseling/expressive therapy program at Lesley University and knew that this was my path. When studying and interning during my graduate school years, I found that practicing from a family and patient centered care model was key. Further, I strive to be as holistic as she can in my practice, collaborative with team members, and supportive from a trauma informed lens.
